About
The Treehouse Project was a assignment that we did in engineering class which involved us building a treehouse that was sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. We could use virtually any materials that we had on hand, including paper, wood, fabric, etc. For my project I used three pieces of paper rolled so that they are sturdy enough to hold my treehouse up then proceeded to build the treehouse out of cardboard, paper, hot glue, etc.
Why I Choose This and 21st Century Skill
This work sample was selected because of how much fun it was to build it. I spent a lot of time working on it and I am proud of the results.
The 21st-century skills that this project used was thinking and problem solving skills through trying to get the treehouse to stand up with the limited materials that I had.
Growth
Current Growth
This project challenged me through building and making the legs stand up. We used to make paper sticks a lot like that in middle school, but I am out of practice so it took me a bit longer then I thought it would to make the legs nice enough so they did not bend.
New Ways To Grow
I would improve this project by spending more time on the doors so that they could be able to be opened as well as standing up the legs one at a time. When standing up the legs I made the bad decision of standing them up all at once and it was more difficult then I thought it would be.
