About
The Honeycreeper Project was a assignment about adaptive radiation and how invasive species can effect a species. We made a newspaper article from the point of view of a specific species of Honeycreeper and had to explain what invasive species are making it more difficult for them to live as well as how they evolved from their common ancestor. The species I choose was the Crested Honeycreeper; they are on the endangered species list and are slowly dwindling from the invasive goats, deer and pigs invading the area and eating their sources of food.
Why I Choose This and 21st Century Skill
I choose this work sample because of how much fun it was to do. I genuinely enjoyed writing in the first person as it is not something that I have the chance to do a lot. I also enjoyed the layout of the project.
The 21st-century skills that this project uses are Communication skills, through presenting the information; and Information skills, through doing the research it took to make an accurate Honeycreepers point of view.
Growth
Current Growth
This project challenged me by writing from a Honeycreepers point of view. I do not usually write in first person so I am not the most used to it and it took me some time to make it flow more.
New Ways To Grow
I would like to improve upon this by working on the project a bit more. I would want to put more detail as well as correct some of the spelling mistakes that I missed over time.
