About
The Spanish Decor project was a assignment to decorate the room with information on different Latin American countries by making posters to put up. Each group got to pick one country and create a poster and/or slideshow of the different aspects, such as what is happening there now, how is their government, what foods do they serve, what music do they listen to, what is their countries history, what enternainment is most popular there, etc. I was grouped with Rachel, Jaci, and Secrett; we chose the country Nicaragua and split up each topic we were going to cover between each person; I was doing the Nicaragua history.

Pros and Cons |
The Spanish Decor Project used Global Awareness Skills by learning about a Latin American country in detail. I did extensive reaserch for my part of the project and learned about how it was orignially conquored by the Spanish and how they used to have a pirating issue. The people in my group learned about the Nicaraguan government as well as the state of the country.
During this project I had to extensively learn about Nicaragua in a certain detail I had never looked at the place before; before this project I had no idea that Nicaragua was even a place let alone how it was taken over by the Spanish. I learned a lot about the country from the reaserch the rest of my group had done too, such as the different aspects of the culture and how the country is doing during COVID.

I am most proud of how much information that I found and reaserched for this project. I I went to around seven different websites to collect information and make sure all the research was accurate. I covered three different history topics in as much detail as I could muster and got a full score on it in the end.
The thing that I had the most difficulty was choosing what topics to do for the history as well as finding accurate information. General history for any country is a lot of information to cover so I decided to pick three main topics to cover in detail. On the other hand, finding accurate information for the topics was surprisingly difficult; every website was worded very strangely, gave differentiating dates, and was in a weird order which made everything very confusing.

What Could be Better |
Past and Future Learning |
I would practice my speech a bit more as well as do a bit more extensive reaserch on who won one of their revolutions. For my speech I read off a sheet a bit more then I would have liked as well as I did stutter a bit on certain words as I got a bit tounge tied. As for the information on who won a revolution they had, the websites I went to didnt mention which side had won so I had to just guess.

This project relates to the Spanish cultures I had learned in the past Spanish classes I have taken. In past classes I did a project similar to this one but instead of Nicaragua I did The project on Colombia which was already taken this time around. I was able to expand in my knowledge on Latin American countries with this project.
I could apply my knowledge on Nicaragua if I ever travelled there and needed to know about the culture as well as what has happened there. I believe it is always important to know some history of wherever you are travelling and I now have that knowledge.
